Sound was the next addition to consumer grade film cameras made at the end of the 1970s. This device utilized single-system, magnetic recording of audio waves directly onto the film itself . Images were captured via a reflex mirror as a rapid sequence of photographs onto strips of film by means of a mechanism that regularly advanced and then held in the film place for a brief duration. The black polystyrol body was made to resist the cracks, scratches and dents caused by the carelessness of absentee family members wishing to document their own accomplishments. This model came with an under and over-exposure warning signal that the aforementioned individual were not equipped with.
