by Polaroid, USA Model Number: 230
Produced between 1947 and 1983, this type of camera produced a fully developed fi lm image for each exposure. It contained internal processing that produced a fi nished print immediately after the exposure button was depressed. The process required a proprietary fi lm that contained the chemicals necessary for the development process. Each piece of fi lm contained a chemical packet attached to one end. The lens projected an image onto the fi lm and the chemicals were spread across the fi lm by rollers as the fi lm exited the camera. Superstitions arose among naive populations about the development process that included blowing on the photo or clutching the photo to the chest in an effort to see the past appear more quickly.
